how to get there, where to eat!

Back to main Alligator information!
Tickets right here!
Running time: 2 hours, 15 minutes (1 intermission)

The entrance to the ART/New York Theatres is on the south side of W. 53rd Street just a few steps west of 10th Avenue.  See the liquor store?  We’re just past it on the left!

It’s a 12-minute walk from the C, E to 50th Street; a 15-minute walk from the 1 train to 50th Street, the R, N, W to 49th Street or the B, D, E to 7th Avenue (53rd Street).  Driving? There’s a parking lot next door to the theater, on W. 53rd Street just west of 10th Avenue.

Late seating is extremely limited, so plan well!  Maybe eat nearby?

Our Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood is home to many great restaurants — on 9th Avenue, of course, but options are springing up farther west.  Here are some of our company’s favorites nearby.  We’ll keep adding as we keep discovering the neighborhood — and stay tuned for drink and other specials!

Totto Ramen: a ramen mecca right around the corner — 464 W. 51st Street between 9th and 10th.  Go early to avoid the line!

La Bergamote: it’s where we’ve been hanging out. Pick up coffee, patisserie, wine bar, great sandwiches, comfortable and casual, and just a half block west of the theater on the north side of W. 52nd between 10th and 11th

Ardesia Wine Bar:  across the street, with a different vibe — sleek atmosphere, small plates and bigger, lovely wine selection (happy hour specials till right before curtain)!  510 W. 52nd Street west of 10th Avenue — special deal! $2 off wines by the glass & draft beer when you show reservation receipt or program!

Il Baretto Caffe & Wine Bar: coming from the west?  Here’s a wine bar with Italian flavor at the corner of 53rd and 11th, just down the block from the theater

Ristorante Il Melograno is Italian from the other direction, food worth the walk even without a play to see!  It rounds out the corner of 51st and 10th.

Kare Thai: we’re obsessed with the excellent Thai food here, a neighborhood joint with extra spice — 752 10th Avenue, on the west side of the avenue between 51st and 52nd streets.

Taboonit’s where you go when your parents come to take you and your roommate to dinner off campus!  Okay, you’re past that, we get it, it’s just our way of saying this clean-designed Mediterranean spot is the fancier option, and it couldn’t be closer — 773 10th Avenue on the northwest corner of 52nd Street.
